Install it like an app, on whatever you already have
YathraBook runs in the browser and adds itself to your home screen. No store, no download, nothing to wait for.
It is the same YathraBook everywhere: an Android phone, an iPhone or iPad, a laptop or a desktop. One account, one set of records, and the offline behaviour is identical on all of them.
Why install it at all
- One tap from the home screen instead of typing an address
- Opens full screen, with no browser bar taking the top of the display
- Works the same with mobile data switched off
- Takes almost no storage, because there is nothing to download
Steps for your device
Two minutes, once. After that it behaves like any other app.
Pick your device above to see the exact steps.
Android phone or tablet
Chrome, Edge, Samsung Internet or Brave
- 1
Open the app in your browser
Go to app.yathrabook.com in Chrome, or in Edge, Samsung Internet or Brave.
- 2
Tap the install prompt
Chrome offers Install app, or Add to Home screen, near the bottom of the screen. Tap it and confirm.
- 3
No prompt? Use the menu
Tap the three dots at the top right and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
- 4
Open it from your home screen
The YathraBook icon sits with your other apps and opens full screen. Sign in once and you are done.
That opens app.yathrabook.com in this browser. Install it from there with step 2 or step 3 above.
iPhone or iPad
Safari (installing works only from Safari on iOS)
- 1
Open the app in Safari
Go to app.yathrabook.com in Safari. Chrome on an iPhone can use the site, but only Safari can install it.
- 2
Tap the Share button
The square with an arrow coming out of it. It is at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone and at the top right on an iPad.
- 3
Choose Add to Home Screen
Scroll the share sheet until you find it. Keep the name YathraBook, or type your own, then tap Add.
- 4
Open it from your home screen
It opens full screen with no Safari bar, and it works with the network off just like on Android.
That opens app.yathrabook.com. Check you are in Safari, then use the Share button as in step 2.
Windows, Mac or Linux
Chrome or Edge to install, any modern browser to just use it
- 1
Open the app in Chrome or Edge
Go to app.yathrabook.com. Any modern browser runs it in a tab; Chrome and Edge can also install it.
- 2
Click the install icon in the address bar
A small screen-with-an-arrow icon appears at the right of the address bar. Click it, then Install.
- 3
No icon? Use the browser menu
Look for Install in the three-dot menu. Edge keeps it under Apps, Chrome under Cast, save and share. On a Mac, Safari can add it with File then Add to Dock.
- 4
It gets its own window
YathraBook lands in your taskbar or dock and opens in a window of its own, away from your browser tabs.
That opens app.yathrabook.com. Then look for the install icon in the address bar, as in step 2.
After it is installed
- It opens full screen, with no address bar.
- It keeps working with the network off, and syncs by itself when signal returns.
- The same account opens on as many devices as you like. Records made offline on one device reach the others once it syncs.
- Signing out clears the local copy on that device, so connect once before you sign out.
What about Google Play?
An Android app on Google Play is planned for later. It is this same YathraBook in a store wrapper, so installing from the browser today gets you the same app, on any device, without waiting for it.
